Campaign & Content Rules
These rules keep Startups of Timor honest and useful. They apply to every profile, campaign, update and comment. Breaking them leads to content removal; repeated or serious breaches lead to account suspension.
Campaigns
- The campaign must fund a real business activity by the real people shown. No campaigning on behalf of someone else without their documented consent.
- The goal amount, deadline and use of funds must be stated clearly and honestly.
- Rewards must be non-financial (products, recognition, experiences). Offering shares, profit cuts, interest or repayment through a campaign is prohibited — the platform does not host securities offerings.
- Progress updates are mandatory while a campaign is open and until rewards are delivered. Silence after taking money is treated as a breach.
- Material changes (goal, deadline, use of funds) must be announced in an update, not edited silently.
Profiles & content
- Photos must show the actual business, products and people. No stock photos presented as your own.
- Claims about revenue, customers or partnerships must be true and provable if challenged.
- No impersonation of organisations or programs; partner names may only be used with a real relationship.
Prohibited
- Fundraising for anything illegal, for gambling, or for pyramid/multi-level recruitment schemes
- Discriminatory, defamatory or harassing content
- Multiple accounts, fake backers, or self-pledging to inflate a campaign
- Contact details or payment links placed to bypass the platform’s pledge ledger
